Should we have got involved in libya?

Should we have bothered getting involved? The UK is in a bad way financially as it is. I know Gaddafi had threatened a macre but what does that have to do with us? It just seems like it's just going to be a very long drawn out war that had nothing to do with us in the first place. Why aren't we doing the same in yemen and syria? Maybe if our leaders would stop putting us to wars that aren't ours the UK wouldn't be in such a mess with money. Just wondering what people think on the matter :) cheers in advance.
