Do you think butch women are attracted to sports or that sports make women butch?

I'm just curious b/c I have seen women who play sports on tv like women's basketball or now women's hockey and most seem so butch and probably . What I want to know is do the sports make them that way? I mean I'm wondering b/c of maybe there is a masculine atmosphere in the locker room where they want to win at any cost or something like that. I'm talking about team sports involving a lot of women like softball and basketball and not individual things like ballet or couple things like ice skating. Also, would you let your daughter play softball?
